We have another conference clash in the NCAAB scheduled for Saturday, February 4, and here you can check out the best Wildcats vs. Bluejays betting pick and odds.

Creighton is looking for the sixth straight victory when they welcome Villanova at CHI Health Center. The Bluejays are 9-point favorites on BookMaker Sportsbook, while the total is set at 138.5 points. These Big East rivals will meet for the first time this season.

Wildcats lost to Marquette on the road

The Villanova Wildcats (10-12, 7-15-0 ATS) are not playing well at the moment; they suffered seven defeats in the last ten games, including two in a row to the Providence Friars and Marquette Golden Eagles. The Wildcats had a point lead at halftime at Marquette, but the hosts limited Villanova to just 29 points in the second half and celebrated a well-deserved 73-64 victory. When it comes to shooting, the Wildcats were tied with Marquette; however, the fact that the visitors committed even 19 turnovers opposite the Golden Eagles’ seven cost them in the end.

Junior forward Eric Dixon led the Wildcats with 14 points and six rebounds. Caleb Daniels also scored 14 points with four boards, while Brendan Hausen chipped in 12 points off the bench.

G Jordan Longino is sidelined with a hamstring injury, and he will be off the court until at least the middle of February.

Bluejays beat Georgetown on the road in a low-scoring affair

The Creighton Bluejays (14-8, 11-11-0 ATS) are in excellent form in the last couple of weeks; they are on a five-game winning streak after securing the most recent victory over the Georgetown Hoyas on the road. The Bluejays displayed one of their best defensive performances of the campaign as they kept the hosts to 35.4% from the field and limited them to just three three-pointers, while Creighton scored eight in return. Creighton was better in rebounds (48-34) and deservedly booked a 63-53 win.

The Bluejays’ bench didn’t contribute a single point opposite Georgetown’s 14, but each starter finished the game in double figures. Junior center Ryan Kalkbrenner led Creighton with a game-high 16 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Ryan Nembhard had 14 points and five boards, Arthur Kaluma added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Baylor Scheierman posted a double-double of ten points and game-high 11 boards along with a pair of steals. It was Scheierman’s tenth double-double of the season.

Trends:

Villanova:

  • 1-6 ATS in the last seven games overall
  • 0-4 ATS in the last four games following a straight-up loss
  • 1-5 ATS in the last six games vs. a team with a winning straight-up record

Creighton:

  • 12-4 ATS in the last 16 games following a straight-up win
  • 5-2 ATS in the last seven home games vs. a team with a losing road record

Villanova Wildcats vs. Creighton Bluejays Pick

Creighton has a solid offense that is averaging 77.3 points per game, over seven points more than Villanova, who averages 70.1 ppg. Also, the Bluejays have a slightly better defense and are stronger in almost every segment, so I am backing the hosts to get an easy victory here. The Wildcats are struggling offensively of late; they failed to score more than 65 in four of the last six games, including in each of the previous three.  Creighton limited the opponents to below 68 points in four of the last five games. Also, the Bluejays are on a six-game winning run at home, while Villanova lost three of the last four on the road.

Pick: Take the Bluejays at -7.5 (-120)

The Total

Villanova’s offensive inconsistency is the biggest reason I am going with a low-scoring affair here. The Wildcats know how to play a solid defense, though, so I don’t think they will allow more than 75 points here. Even if the Bluejays score 75, I am not sure the visitors will contribute enough for an Over. Under is 4-1 in the Wildcats’ last five road games; Under is 4-1 in the Bluejays’ previous five overall, while Under is 12-3-1 in Creighton’s last 16 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Pick: Go Under 140.5 points (-130)
