We have a three-game slate in the NBA scheduled for Thursday, February 16, and here you can check out the best Wizards vs. Timberwolves betting pick and odds.

Washington will conclude a three-game road trip when they visit Minnesota at Target Center. The Timberwolves are 3-point favorites on Bovada Sportsbook, while the total is set at 235 points. These inter-conference rivals will meet for the second time this year, the Wizards won 142-127 at home.

Wizards destroyed the Blazers in Portland

The Washington Wizards (27-30, 27-27-3 ATS) opened their three-game road trip with a loss to the Golden State Warriors but responded greatly in the second game of a back-to-back set with a big 126-101 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. The Wizards kept the hosts to 41.9% from the field and shot 57.0% on the other end, while they made five more triples (17-12) and were better in both rebounds (44-37) and assists (28-20).

Kyle Kuzma led Washington with 33 points and nine rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis posted a double-double of 28 points and game-high 12 boards along with five assists, Bradley Beal added 19 points and four dishes, while Kendrick Nunn scored ten points.

Timberwolves edged the Mavericks in Dallas

The Minnesota Timberwolves (31-29, 29-31-0 ATS) are back home from a four-game road trip on which they recorded a pair of wins and losses. The Timberwolves lost to the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies and beat the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks. Minnesota had even a 26-point lead midway through the third quarter in Dallas but somehow managed to drop that big lead, giving an opportunity to the Mavs to tie the game in the final possession and force overtime. However, Minnesota’s defense was excellent in that possession as it didn’t let Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic to even attempt a shot, forcing a game-winning turnover in the end. The Wolves were excellent from the floor (57.8%) and were better in rebounds (39-33) and assists (28-21).

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota in a 124-121 victory with 32 points and five rebounds. Rudy Gobert registered a double-double of 21 points and game-high 14 boards, Jaden McDaniels had 19 points, four rebounds, and two steals, Kyle Anderson posted a 12/4/5 line, while Mike Conley finished with 12 points and game-high nine dishes.

C Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) is out indefinitely. C Rudy Gobert (groin) and SF Kyle Anderson (back) are questionable to play against the Wizards on Thursday.

Trends:

Washington:

  • 9-4 ATS in the last 13 games overall
  • 6-2 ATS in the last eight road games
  • 23-10-1 ATS in the last 34 games following a straight-up win of more than ten points

Minnesota:

  • 0-4 ATS in the last four games following an ATS win
  • 1-4 ATS in the last five games playing on two days of rest

Washington Wizards vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Pick

Washington improved a lot when playing on the road recently, the Wizards won six of the previous eight games away from home, and they won three of the last four overall. On the other hand, the Wolves are in hot and cold form in the last two weeks as they failed to make two straight wins over that stretch. It seems that Minnesota is not as good without D’Angelo Russell, who went to the Lakers in a trade, even though the Wolves should be better defensively with Mike Conley in town. Still, it looks to me that the Wizards are in better form at the moment, and I am backing the trio of Kuzma, Porzingis, and Beal to at least cover here. I wouldn’t be surprised if the visitors manage to get a straight-up win, though.

Pick: Take the Wizards at +4.5 (-120)

The Total

The Wizards are one of few teams who have three players who average 20+ points per game this season. Kuzma, Porzingis, and Beal combine for around 67 points per contest, and it’s very hard to consistently guard all of them all the time when all three are on the floor. One or two will usually erupt for a 30-point game, which is something I expect to see on Thursday. Washington scored 125 points in each of the last three games, while Minnesota scored 120+ in four of the previous six. Over is 16-5 in the last 21 H2H meetings, while Over is 4-0 in the previous four H2H duels in Minneapolis.

Pick: Go Over 232.5 points (-125)
