Bookmaker occupies an unusual position, so “something similar” is a narrower request than it sounds. Here is what actually competes with it and on what.

Most alternatives searches are about finding a book that does roughly the same thing. This one is different, because Bookmaker is not really competing on the same axis as the rest of the offshore market.

It is not the biggest, the slickest, or the most generous with bonuses. What it does is post lines first and accept large action on major markets. If either of those is why you are there, the replacement list is short.

What you are actually replacing

Three things, from our own testing documented in the Bookmaker review.

Early lines. Over a seven-day testing period across NFL, NBA and MLB, opening lines appeared twelve to twenty-four hours ahead of most competing offshore books. On some NFL games, lines were up on Sunday evening for the following week. That lead time is the product.

Limits on major markets. NFL sides in particular can reach five figures depending on account and timing. That is well above what recreational-focused books will accept.

Payout speed. A Bitcoin withdrawal we timed went from request to wallet in two hours and eleven minutes, with the book approving and sending one hour twenty-four minutes after submission.

Notice what is not on that list. The platform is dated, there is no cash out, no live streaming, no native iOS app, and the welcome bonus is conservative by offshore standards. Nobody chooses Bookmaker for those.

Something changed in 2026, and we cannot confirm it

Industry press reported in March 2026 that Bookmaker had begun restricting professional accounts out of certain markets, specifically boxing undercards and regional MMA, while pushing reduced-juice promotions toward recreational customers. If accurate, that is a shift away from the positioning described above.

We are flagging it rather than asserting it. The reporting is sourced to named bettors rather than to the operator, Bookmaker has not published any such policy, and our own testing predates it. If early lines and high limits are the reason you hold the account, it is worth testing your own limits on the markets you actually bet before assuming anything.

Separately and verifiably: BetDSI merged into Bookmaker in June 2026 after a twenty-five year run, with balances and pending wagers migrating across.

BetOnline is the closest structural match: comparable pricing, high limits, same state coverage, slightly more events, the same dated-but-functional approach. Heritage sits nearby with a slightly better racebook rebate and narrower state coverage. Bovada is the one that is genuinely different, being built for a different customer.

Match the alternative to the reason

Why you are lookingWhat to prioritise
You want a second book for line shoppingDifference, not similarity. The whole point is having a second number to compare. Pairing an early-lines book with one that moves later gives you more useful spread than two of the same thing.
You got limitedBooks whose model assumes informed customers. See which sportsbooks limit winners for why business model predicts this better than any list.
You want a better interfaceYou are trading down on limits and early access to get it. Be clear that is the trade you are making.
You want a bigger bonusCheck rollover rather than headline. Bookmaker’s own free play offer runs at 1x rollover while its cash bonus runs at 8x, which is a five-fold difference in required wagering for a quarter of the bonus money.
You bet horsesThe daily rebate rate, which compounds across a season far more than a signup offer. Covered in the horse racing community.

What you give up either way

Two things worth naming honestly before you move.

Early lines are hard to replace. If you are someone who does the work during the week and wants a number before the market has corrected it, that is a narrow capability and few books offer it. Moving to a book that posts later means competing into a more efficient price.

The dated platform is not a bug you are fixing. The books with high limits and sharp pricing tend to look old, and the ones that look modern tend to price for recreational customers. That correlation is not a coincidence. Spending on interface and spending on odds are different priorities.

The realistic conclusion for most people reading this is the same as on every alternatives page we write: add rather than replace. Our sportsbook rankings cover the books we have tested, and our offshore guide has the background.

Questions people ask

What is the closest alternative to Bookmaker.eu?

On measurable criteria, BetOnline is the nearest structural match, with comparable spread pricing, high limits, the same broad state coverage and a similar racebook rebate. Heritage Sports is close, with a slightly higher rebate and narrower state coverage.

Why do people use Bookmaker if the platform is dated?

Early lines and limits. In our testing, opening lines appeared twelve to twenty-four hours ahead of most competing offshore books, and NFL sides accept five-figure action depending on account and timing. Neither of those is affected by how the site looks.

Should I switch from Bookmaker or open a second account?

For most bettors, add rather than switch. Having a second number to compare is the point, and pairing a book that posts early with one that moves later gives you more useful coverage than two similar books.

Which offshore books have the highest limits?

In our comparison Bookmaker rated highest, with BetOnline and Heritage Sports both high and Bovada moderate. Limits vary substantially by market within any book, so the bet slip is the only figure that binds.
