The single most common recommendation is a book that a state regulator has formally identified as part of the same operation. Start there.
Ask for BetOnline alternatives anywhere and SportsBetting.ag comes back. It is the most frequently suggested option, it looks like a genuinely separate book, and opening it achieves almost nothing if your reason for leaving was the operator rather than the interface.

The two are the same operation
When Michigan’s gaming board issued cease and desist orders to forty-five offshore operators in April 2026, BetOnline.ag and SportsBetting.ag both appeared on the list, and the regulator annotated each of them with the same poker network label it applied to two other sites on the same order.
Their own published pages corroborate it. Both charge the same $80 money order fee, both run a $500 to $25,000 bank wire band at the same flat fee plus percentage, both use identical wording on person-to-person timings, and both describe crypto payouts with the same phrasing. Both were served by the Massachusetts Attorney General on the same day in June 2025.
If BetOnline limited your account, SportsBetting.ag is not a workaround.
We review both books, and we are telling you this rather than quietly recommending one as an alternative to the other. It is the kind of thing an affiliate site has every commercial reason not to mention.
Match the alternative to your reason
| Reason | What actually matters |
|---|---|
| Limited or restricted | A genuinely separate operator, and one whose model tolerates informed customers. Covered in which sportsbooks limit winners. |
| Payout took too long | Note that BetOnline publishes a payout processing window of Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm Eastern, excluding holidays. A Friday afternoon request is a Monday request. That is a scheduling fact rather than a delay. |
| Hit a withdrawal ceiling | BetOnline publishes a $100,000 weekly Bitcoin cap, a $150,000 maximum parlay win and a $250,000 maximum payout in any 24-hour period. Compare those against the alternative rather than comparing speed. |
| Want better numbers | Spread pricing and how early lines post. In our testing BetOnline ran -108 to -110, matching the sharper end of the offshore market. |
| Want a second account | Something structurally different, and confirmed independent. |
What BetOnline publishes
More than most of its competitors, which is worth crediting.
Banking. Bitcoin withdrawals from $100 with a $100,000 weekly cap and no fee, usually inside an hour and up to 48 hours. Bank wire $500 to $25,000 at a flat fee plus three percent, up to fifteen business days. Money orders in $500 multiples with an $80 fee. Crypto deposits across seven coins with no fee.
Rollover. All deposited funds must be wagered once before withdrawal, with no bonus involved. This is published in the house rules and it is the single most common cause of a confused complaint across the whole offshore market, as we set out in what actually causes payout complaints.
Caps. $150,000 maximum parlay win, $250,000 maximum in any 24-hour period, $1 minimum online wager.
Jurisdiction. House rules treat all wagers as originating in Panama City, Panama.
What it does not publish is a US state exclusion list. Its restricted list covers thirty-one countries and no states. That is the norm rather than the exception offshore, and it means any state-by-state list you find elsewhere is unlikely to be an operator statement.
Regulatory position
BetOnline has been named in several state enforcement actions during 2025 and 2026. Michigan included it in the April 2026 cease and desist order to forty-five operators. Massachusetts issued a cease and desist in June 2025 that also demanded refunds to Massachusetts users. Tennessee served a cease and desist in May 2025 and fined it $50,000 in July 2025. Mississippi and Rhode Island have both named it.
As with every book in this market, that pattern is widespread rather than distinguishing. Tennessee alone has fined seven of the eight major offshore operators. What it means practically is that access can change and there is no regulator to appeal to, which is the risk framing we use throughout our offshore FAQ.
Comparing a genuine alternative
Where BetOnline sits, from our market comparison documented in the Bookmaker review.
| Feature | BetOnline | Bookmaker | Bovada | Heritage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Events listed | 4,426 | 4,350 | 4,375 | 4,289 |
| Spread pricing | -108 to -110 | -108 to -110 | -110 | -108 to -110 |
| Betting limits | High | Very high | Moderate | High |
| Early lines | Early | Market setter | Early | Early |
| Racebook rebate | Up to 8% | Up to 8% | None | Up to 9% |
| Best suited to | Volume bettors | Sharp bettors, early lines | Beginners | Recreational |
BetOnline led our event-count comparison and matched the sharper books on pricing. If you are leaving for reasons other than the operator itself, you are likely trading down on breadth.
Questions people ask
Are BetOnline and SportsBetting.ag the same company?
Michigan’s gaming regulator listed both in its April 2026 cease and desist order and annotated each with the same poker network label. Their published banking terms also match on non-obvious specifics including an identical money order fee and wire fee structure. They are the same operation.
Why is my BetOnline payout taking so long?
BetOnline publishes a payout processing window of Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm Eastern, excluding holidays. Requests outside that window wait for the next one. Separately, all deposited funds must be wagered once before withdrawal even with no bonus claimed, which is the most common cause of a held request.
What states does BetOnline not accept?
BetOnline does not publish a US state exclusion list. Its published restrictions cover thirty-one countries and no states. Any state-by-state list you find is unlikely to be an operator statement, so check with support directly.
