Nearly every obvious sweeps brand name on Reddit has been banned. The communities re-formed under new names, and almost nobody has updated their list.
We went into this expecting to find a large general sweepstakes casino community and a handful of brand ones. Neither turned out to be true, and what we found instead is genuinely strange.
There is no general hub. And the majority of the first-choice brand names are banned.
On this page
There is no general sweeps subreddit
Every name you would guess is unavailable. r/sweepstakescasino is banned. r/SweepstakesCasinos exists with 235 members and almost no traffic. r/SocialCasino has 75 members and nothing since June 2025. r/sweepscasinos is abandoned, and its most recent post is somebody asking for moderators. r/highstakescasino does not exist at all.
There is one more trap worth knowing. r/sweepstakes has a healthy-looking 48,634 members, so it turns up on lists constantly. It is about traditional giveaways rather than casinos, it is restricted, and it has had no new posts since August 2025. A subscriber count is not the same thing as a community.
So general sweeps discussion spills into the broad gambling communities instead: r/gambling with 323,655 members and r/onlinegambling with 74,404. Neither is sweeps-specific, and both are active daily.
The independent communities
These are the ones not operated by a casino, which makes them the closest thing to neutral ground.
| Community | Members | Access | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| r/CasinoFreebies | 26,562 | Public | The closest thing to an independent hub. Freebies, giveaways and promos across social and crypto casinos. Active daily. |
| r/DailyCashList | 10,608 | Public | Daily bonus claiming. Built around the routine of collecting free coins each day. |
| r/SweepstakeSharks | 8,522 | Public | Free coins, free spins and bonus links. |
| r/SCcasinolist | 2,456 | Public | A sweeps casino list plus daily free sweeps coins. Operated by a company, so treat the list as commercial. |
| r/sweepscasinoletters | 827 | Restricted | Guides and templates for mail-in free entry. Small, niche, and one of the more genuinely useful things in this space. |
r/SweepstakeSideHustle has 17,476 members and is very active, which makes it the second-largest sweeps community by size. It is operated as an extension of a commercial sweeps site, it is restricted, and discussion is limited to the casinos on that site’s list. It is worth reading. It is not a neutral source, and it does not present itself as one either.
The brand communities
This is where most of the actual volume sits, and every one of them is a marketing channel operated by the casino. That does not make them useless, because customer complaints still surface there, but the framing is the company’s.
| Community | Members | Brand |
|---|---|---|
| r/CrownCoinsOfficial | 273,454 | Crown Coins. By far the largest sweeps community on Reddit, and brand-operated. |
| r/stakeus | 59,019 | Stake.us. The most active of the brand communities. |
| r/LoneStarOfficial | 12,521 | LoneStar Social Casino |
| r/ZulaCasinoFans | 5,444 | Zula. Note the name: plain r/zulacasino has 273 members and is abandoned. |
| r/fortunecoinsfans | 4,442 | Fortune Coins. Plain r/fortunecoins is banned. |
| r/ModoCasinoOfficial | 4,099 | Modo. Plain r/ModoCasino is banned. |
| r/ChumbaCasinoPt2 | 3,266 | Chumba. Named Pt2 because the original was banned, and the community describes itself as a replacement for what was lost. |
| r/Pulsz_Official | 3,028 | Pulsz. Plain r/pulsz has 186 members and is abandoned. |
The banned names, and what replaced them
Here is the pattern that makes this vertical different from sports betting. In sports, a handful of betting subs were banned. In sweeps, the banned list reads like a directory of the industry.
r/sweepstakescasino, r/stake_us, r/McLuck, r/Chumba, r/ChumbaCasino, r/fortunecoins, r/CrownCoinsCasino, r/WowVegas, r/WowVegasCasino, r/LuckyLandSlots, r/ModoCasino, r/Sportzino, r/HelloMillions, r/Jackpota, r/Funrize, r/RealPrize, r/GoldenHeartsGames, r/SpreeCasino and r/TaoFortune.
Almost every one of those is the obvious name for its brand, and in most cases the community re-formed under a name ending in Official, Fans or Pt2. So if you search for a sweeps casino community and hit an error page, the answer is usually not that the community is gone. It is that it is now called something slightly different.
We are not going to speculate on why Reddit removed each of them, because Reddit does not publish reasons. The general causes for community bans are spam takeover, moderator abandonment and ban evasion, which we cover in betting subreddits that got banned.
Two more worth flagging. r/luckyland has 78 members and its public description is about an unrelated anime series, with roughly three posts in its entire history. And r/GlobalPoker has 714 members with nothing posted since May 2024.
Referral codes: read the rules first
Referral codes are central to sweeps culture in a way they are not in sports betting, which makes the rules here matter more than usual. Several of the biggest communities ban them outright.
r/CasinoFreebies states it plainly in its sidebar: it is not a place for referrals, and posting one will get you banned. r/SweepstakeSharks bans referral link spam and website promotion. r/SCcasinolist has a rule that simply reads, once again, no affiliate links. r/gambling and r/onlinegambling both ban referral link spam, astroturfing and website promotion.
r/DailyCashList appears to be the exception, with governed rules covering referral and freebie links rather than banning them, though we have not read the full rule text so treat that as unconfirmed.
The general lesson is the same as everywhere else on Reddit. Posting your code without contributing anything is the fastest way to lose the account, and in this vertical the enforcement is stricter than most people expect.
Questions people ask
What is the main sweepstakes casino subreddit?
There is not one. The generic names are banned, empty or abandoned. The largest independent community is r/CasinoFreebies with 26,562 members, and the largest overall is r/CrownCoinsOfficial with 273,454, but that one is operated by the brand rather than being a general hub.
Why do so many sweepstakes casino subreddits return an error?
Because most first-choice brand names were banned by Reddit, including r/Chumba, r/McLuck, r/WowVegas, r/fortunecoins and r/CrownCoinsCasino. The communities generally re-formed under names ending in Official, Fans or Pt2, so the discussion still exists under a different address.
Is r/sweepstakes about sweepstakes casinos?
No. It covers traditional giveaways and contests, it is restricted, and it has had no new posts since August 2025. Its 48,634 subscriber count makes it look active on lists, which is why it gets recommended in error.
Can you post referral codes in sweepstakes casino subreddits?
In most of them, no. r/CasinoFreebies bans referrals outright and says so in its sidebar. r/SweepstakeSharks, r/SCcasinolist, r/gambling and r/onlinegambling all ban referral or affiliate links. Check the individual community rules before posting one.
What is r/sweepscasinoletters?
A small restricted community, 827 members, dedicated to mail-in free entry guides and templates. Sweepstakes casinos are required to offer a free alternative method of entry, and this is where people share how to actually use it.
