NFL is the biggest betting sport in America by a distance, so people reasonably expect a huge dedicated NFL betting community on Reddit. There is not one. The dedicated sub has under 14,000 members, and the actual conversation happens somewhere else entirely.
r/NFLBETS, all capitals, is the live community. r/NFLBetting, in mixed case, was banned by Reddit. The two names differ only in letter case. If a list sends you to the second one, that list has not been checked in a long time, and it is worth wondering what else on it is wrong.
Where NFL betting talk actually happens
Three places, in order of how much you will get out of them.
1. The r/sportsbook daily threads
This is the answer most people are looking for without knowing it. r/sportsbook has 616,065 members and runs dated daily threads. Through the autumn and winter, the NFL threads take over the slots that baseball occupies in summer, and they carry the heaviest traffic on the subreddit.
The rhythm is worth learning. Lines and reactions start appearing early in the week, the Pick of the Day thread fills up through Saturday and Sunday morning, and Sunday itself is a wall of comments. 2. r/NFLBETS
13,900 members. Small, but it is the only dedicated NFL betting community left standing, and being small has an advantage: your post does not vanish under four hundred others within ten minutes. Better for a considered question than for live game-day chat.
3. r/sportsbetting
r/sportsbetting has 580,826 members and lets you start your own thread, which r/sportsbook does not. If you want to ask something specific about a Week 6 line and have it be findable, this is where to put it.

Props and pick’em
NFL player props have largely migrated to the pick’em app communities rather than the betting subs. r/PrizePicks has 125,001 members and r/underdogfantasy has 47,417, and both get very busy from September onwards. Bear in mind these are single-app communities, so the enthusiasm for the product is not neutral.
What happens in the off-season
The NFL threads disappear from r/sportsbook between February and late summer, replaced by baseball. r/NFLBETS goes quiet in the same period. If you have arrived in June and found nothing happening, nothing is wrong. Come back in August, when season win totals and futures markets start getting posted and the first real conversations of the year happen.
