Sports Betting on Reddit: Subreddits, Threads and Resources – 2026

Where the betting conversations actually happen, which threads are worth your time, and which communities have quietly disappeared.

Nobody searches Reddit because they trust marketing. They search it because they want to hear from someone who actually got paid.

That is why so many betting searches now end with the word reddit. The problem is that most pages claiming to list the best betting subreddits are years out of date, and several of them point you at communities that have been banned. We check this page every month against Reddit itself, and we log the date we checked.

Where the betting talk actually happens

Two subreddits carry almost all of the volume, and they work in completely different ways.

Below those two, r/gambling (323,543 members) covers everything from slots to poker, so sports is a minority of what you will see there. r/sportsgambling (22,451) is a smaller picks and predictions community.

The daily threads worth reading

If you only take one thing from this page, take this. The value in r/sportsbook is in the recurring threads, not the front page. They all follow the same naming pattern, with the weekday on the end after two slashes.

Sport by sport

This is where most lists go wrong. Several of the obvious names are banned, and the ones people expect to find are often not the ones that are alive.

There is no working NBA betting subreddit and no working college football or college basketball betting subreddit. r/nbabetting and both CFB subs were banned, r/NBABets went private, and r/CollegeBasketballBets has not had a post since July 2025. Reviews, payouts and complaints

r/SportsbookReview has only 3,353 members, which makes it look unimportant. It is not. It is where non-payment reports and withdrawal problems get posted, and a slow-moving complaint board is still the fastest way to spot a book going bad.

r/Bovada (20,847 members) is nominally a single-book community but functions as the busiest offshore sportsbooks payout board on the site. The regulated equivalents are r/fanduel (103,776), r/DraftKingsDiscussion (34,611) and r/bet365 (14,350), where limiting and grading disputes pile up.

Advantage play, arbitrage and modelling

Three communities matter here, and they attract a noticeably different reader from the daily picks threads.

• r/arbitragebetting (39,011 members) is the main arb community. It bans referral links, affiliate links and, since a rules update, promotion of any external tool. Read before you post.
• r/algobetting (25,421) covers modelling, statistics and automation. The best signal-to-noise ratio of any betting sub, in our view.
• r/EVbetting (11,291) is the live positive expected value community. Note that r/PositiveEV and r/EVbets both exist but are empty shells with single-digit membership. Easy mistake to make.

Everyone in these subs will tell you the same thing about getting your action down, which is that you need accounts at several books. Our sportsbook rankings and our guide to books that do not limit winners are the two pages worth reading on that.

DFS and pick’em apps

DFS on Reddit is fragmented. The old general hub, r/dfsports, was banned and nothing has replaced it. What is left are the app communities: r/PrizePicks (125,001 members) and r/underdogfantasy (47,417), plus the smaller r/DFS_Sports (1,581), where most of the volume is people posting their own lineups.

Subreddits that no longer exist

This is the section other lists leave out, and it is the reason they send you to dead links.

Banned: r/dfsports, r/StopGambling, r/matchedbetting, r/NFLBetting (the lowercase version), r/nbabetting, r/MLBbets, r/NHLbets, r/CFBbetting, r/CFBBets, r/CBBbets, r/SportsBettingPicks (the version without the 1 on the end), r/OffshoreBetting and r/betonline.

Private, so you cannot read them: r/NBABets, r/betting, r/ParlayPicks and r/sportsbet.

Alive but effectively abandoned: r/CollegeBasketballBets (nothing since July 2025), r/SportsHandicapping (nothing since March 2026), r/sportsarbitrage, r/mmabets and r/degenerategambling.

Two traps catch people out repeatedly. The working picks sub is r/SportsBettingPicks1, with the number, because the version without it was banned. And r/PicksandParlays on Reddit is a squatted name created in 2026 with a single member. It has nothing to do with the handicapping brand of the same name.

Which books to trust

• Best offshore sportsbooks Reddit recommends in 2026. Not one major offshore book produced a verifiable licence number, and fourteen brand names collapse into about six companies.
• Best sports betting sites Reddit recommends in 2026. Where you live decides most of this. Thirty states have legal online betting and three of the biggest do not.
• Which sportsbooks does Reddit actually trust? You cannot get a trust ranking out of Reddit, and the reason why is more useful than the ranking.
• Offshore sportsbooks on Reddit. The dedicated community was banned, the biggest brand community took its place, and no subreddit actually bans the topic.
• Is offshore betting safe? Half the threads say federal crime, half say no law against it. Both are wrong, and the real risk is a different one.

Payouts and withdrawals

• Fastest payout sportsbooks according to Reddit. The advertised time is not what decides it. The weekly ceiling, the frequency limit and the coin you pick are, and those are published.

Limits, sharp books and price

• Sportsbooks that do not limit winners: the shortlist. No book can prove it does not limit winners and no regulator collects the data. What can be established instead.
• Which sportsbooks limit winners? No book publishes a limiting policy, so every ranking is inference. Here is what actually follows from the evidence.
• Sharp vs square sportsbooks. The distinction is business model, not quality, and it predicts a book’s pricing, its limits and how long your account survives.
• Line shopping: what it is actually worth. The least interesting advice in betting and the only edge available to everyone, priced in dollars.
• Reduced juice sportsbooks. Cutting -110 to -105 roughly halves what betting costs you. That is arithmetic, and there is a catch.

Sport by sport, the sportsbook version

• Best sportsbook for NFL betting. Four things are measurable and almost never checked: the price on the number, the real teaser cost, the published limit, and how a push is graded.
• Best sportsbook for NBA betting: why price beats everything. No key numbers worth buying, no listed-starter rule, and no state that has actually banned a prop.
• Best sportsbook for MLB betting: the listed pitcher rule decides it. Bookmaker.eu no longer offers listed pitchers at all, and that reorganises the whole question.
• Best sportsbook for college football: the limit gap nobody publishes. One book states in writing that your college action is worth a fifth of your NFL action. The others apply the same discount silently.
• Best sportsbook for NHL betting: there is no listed goalie rule. A goalie change reprices your bet, it does not void it, whatever the affiliate pages say.

Picks, touts and bankroll

• Best sports picks sites: why the records do not mean what you think. Give 1,000 people with no skill 50 picks each and about 101 finish at 60% or better. That is what a tout leaderboard looks like before anyone has demonstrated anything.
• Are paid sports picks worth it? Work out the edge they would need to cover the subscription, then compare it to the best verified records that exist.
• Best handicappers on Reddit: real records vs fake ones. There is no list, because nobody can verify one. There is a short set of checks most claimed records fail.
• Best sports betting Discords according to Reddit. Discord’s own policies prohibit exactly what paid servers sell, which is why none of them can take your money through Discord.
• Bankroll size: what Reddit bettors actually start with. Size matters less than the fraction. We simulated 30,000 seasons and the drawdowns are larger than almost anybody expects.
