The NBA action continues on Monday, March 6, with a six-game slate, including this inter-conference duel, so feel free to read the best Trail Blazers vs. Pistons betting pick and odds.

Detroit is hoping to avoid the eighth consecutive loss when they welcome Portland at Little Caesars Arena. The Trail Blazers are 6-point favorites on BetUS Sportsbook, while the total is set at N/A points. These inter-conference rivals will face for the second time this season; the Trail Blazers won 135-106 in Portland.

Trail Blazers were well beaten in Atlanta

The Portland Trail Blazers (29-34, 31-32 ATS) lost five of the last six games and are currently on a three-game losing streak. The Blazers opened a six-game road trip with a 129-111 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta was red-hot on offense and shot 57.1% from the floor and was better than Portland in almost every segment, so the shorthanded Trail Blazers didn’t stand a chance.

Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 33 points, team-high eight assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Cam Reddish scored 25 points with two blocks, while Jerami Grant had 14 points, five boards, four dishes, game-high three rejections, and two steals.

C Jusuf Nurkic (calf), F Justise Winslow (ankle), PG Ryan Arcidiacono (back), and G Anfernee Simons (ankle) are out indefinitely and will not play on Sunday against Orlando and probably on Monday against Detroit as well.

Pistons couldn’t hurt the Cavaliers in Cleveland

The Detroit Pistons (15-49, 27-34-3 ATS) continued with their slump; they are on a seven-game losing skid following the latest 114-90 road loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pistons will now spend seven of the next eight games at home including five straight and are hoping to snap a losing run. Detroit didn’t have a chance against Cleveland, the best defense in the NBA. The Pistons shot 40.7% from the field and made just six three-pointers opposite the Cavs’ 14. Also, the hosts were better in assists (29-19), while the Pistons committed even 24 turnovers, twice as many as Cleveland.

Marvin Bagley led the Pistons with a double-double of 20 points and game-high 13 rebounds along with a team-high three blocks. Hamidou Diallo contributed 14 points and seven boards, R.J. Hampton scored 11 points, and Jaden Ivey had ten points and four rebounds.

PG Cade Cunningham (shin) is out for the season. C Jalen Duren (ankle), PG Killian Hayes (hand), PF/C Isaiah Stewart (hip), SF Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles), and SG Alec Burks (foot) are questionable to feature on Monday against the Trail Blazers.

Trends:

Portland:

  • 1-5 ATS in the last six games overall
  • 3-13 ATS in the last 16 road games

Detroit:

  • 6-1 ATS in the last seven games vs. a team with a losing straight-up record
  • 4-1 ATS in the last five games playing on one day of rest

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Detroit Pistons Pick

The Blazers will come to Detroit after facing the Orlando Magic on Sunday, which should be an advantage for the Pistons. Portland lost 12 of the previous 14 road games and is on a four-game losing skid on the road. Of course, Portland has a better team even when the Blazers are playing without Nurkic and Simons, but I think the hosts can cover on Monday. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Pistons manage to get a straight-up win because the Blazers will be tired after that duel against Orlando.

Pick: Take the Pistons at +7.5 (-133)

The Total

Portland is struggling defensively of late, and I am pretty sure those problems will continue on Monday as their legs will be heavy following Sunday’s game in Orlando. The Trail Blazers allowed 121+ points in five of the previous six games, and even though the Pistons score 111.4 points per game, I am backing the hosts to score around 120 here. Detroit, on the other hand, has the second-worst D in the NBA that allows 119.1 ppg. Over is 15-7 in the last 22 H2H meetings, while Over is 9-3 in the previous 12 H2H duels in Detroit.Pick: Go Over N/A points
