The Week 14 of the NFL will conclude with an MNF tilt in Arizona on Monday, December 12, and here you can get the best Patriots vs. Cardinals betting pick and odds.

Both New England and Arizona are hoping to avoid their third consecutive defeats when they meet at State Farm Stadium. The Patriots are slight -1.5 favorites on Jazz Sportsbook, while the total is set at 44.5 points. These inter-conference rivals haven’t met since 2020 when the Patriots won 20-17 at home.

Patriots couldn’t do much against the Bills

The New England Patriots (6-6-0, 6-5-1 ATS) lost the second game in a row, and this time around it wasn’t a one-score game. They were well beaten at home by the Buffalo Bills, who kept the Pats to just 14 first downs and 242 total yards. New England scored only three points in the second half and deservedly lost 24-10.

Mac Jones completed 22 of 36 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Jones caught that lone TD pass from Mac and also led the Patriots in receiving yards with 51 on two catches. Rhamondre Stevenson led the team in rushing yards with 54 on ten carries, but overall, it was a weak offensive display from New England. On defense, Josh Uche had a pair of sacks, while Davon Godchaux posted a game-high ten tackles.

QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) and RB Ty Montgomery (knee) are out indefinitely. CB Jalen Mills (groin), T Isaiah Wynn (foot), T Yodny Cajuste (calf), and RB Damien Harris (thigh) are questionable to face the Cardinals on Monday.

Cardinals suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Chargers

The Arizona Cardinals (4-8-0, 6-6-0 ATS) are coming out of a bye week after losing two in a row. While the San Francisco 49ers destroyed the Cards 38-10, Arizona suffered a painful 25-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at home. They had a 24-17 lead until the final minute of the game when the visitors scored a TD and then converted a 2-point attempt to secure a narrow victory.

Kyler Murray completed 18 of 29 passes for 191 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. DeAndre Hopkins, who led all the receivers with 87 yards on four catches, also caught one of two TD passes from Murray. James Conner was on the receiving end of the other one, while he was great on the ground with a game-high 120 rushing yards on 25 carries. Defensively, Arizona recorded four sacks, while Isaiah Simmons and Marco Wilson led the team in tackles with eight apiece.

TE Zach Ertz (knee) and T D.J. Humphries (back) are out indefinitely and will not play on Monday against the Patriots. CB Antonio Hamilton (ankle), CB Byron Murphy (back), and WR Rondale Moore (groin) are questionable.

Trends:

New England:

  • 12-2 ATS in the last 14 games following a double-digit loss at home
  • 23-5 ATS in the last 28 games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game

Arizona:

  • 3-9 ATS in the last 12 home games
  • 2-10 ATS in the last 12 Monday games

New England Patriots vs. Arizona Cardinals Pick

Arizona has been disappointing at home this season. The Cardinals won just one of six games at State Farm Stadium and given they are without playoff aspirations, unlike the Pats, who are very much alive in the playoff hunt, I am going with the visitors here. The Cards do have a slightly better offense than New England, but the Patriots’ defense is the 7th best in the NFL and allows only 18.8 points per game. On the other hand, Arizona has the second-worst defense in the league that is allowing 26.8 ppg. I am backing a stronger D in this one.

Pick: Take the Patriots at -1.5 (-110)

The Total

The Cardinals prefer passing over running, but it will be hard for the hosts to move the chains against the top 10 pass defense that is allowing 200.6 yards per game to the opposing receivers. Considering the Patriots’ offense is not an efficient one, I expect to see plenty of three-and-outs and punts in this encounter. Under is 4-1 in the last five H2H meetings; Under is 4-1 in the Patriots’ previous five games overall, while Under is 5-2 in the Cardinals’ last seven games following a bye week.

Pick: Go Under 46.5 points (-130)
