We have this inter-conference duel in the NBA as a part of an eight-game slate scheduled for Monday, February 6, and here you can take a look at the best Clippers vs. Nets betting pick and odds.

Los Angeles will conclude its six-game road trip when they visit Brooklyn at Barclays Center. The Clippers are 6-point favorites on BookMaker Sportsbook, while the total is set at 217.5 points. The Nets will not be able to count on the services of Kyrie Irving any longer as he got traded to the Dallas Mavericks over the weekend.

These inter-conference rivals will meet for the second time this year; the Nets won 110-95 in Los Angeles.

The Clippers edged the Knicks in OT

The Los Angeles Clippers (30-26, 29-27-0 ATS) are playing well at the moment; they won seven of the last nine games including the most recent over the New York Knicks. The Clippers had a 17-point lead early in the fourth quarter and nearly dropped a win, but Nicolas Batum hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to force overtime, and then Los Angeles secured a 134-128 victory. The Clips made 30 free throws opposite New York’s 20 and shot 47.8% from the field. Los Angeles will end its six-game road trip with this game in Brooklyn and then will return home for a four-game stay.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 35 points, five rebounds, and game-high four steals. Paul George added 30 points, eight boards, and five assists, Norman Powell had 24 points and seven rebounds, while Marcus Morris scored 17 points with six boards.

PG John Wall (abdominal) is out indefinitely and will not play on Monday in Brooklyn.

The Nets overcame a big deficit to beat the Wizards

The Brooklyn Nets (32-20, 25-25-2 ATS) won three of the previous four games, but the latest one over the Washington Wizards was special. Namely, the Nets trailed by 23 points in the first half but managed to erase a deficit and get a 125-123 home victory. Cam Thomas scored a layup and made an additional free-throw while Monte Morris missed his two free throws on the other end. Brooklyn shot 50.0% from the floor and dominated in blocks (10-3). It was a fantastic way to open a five-game home stand.

Cam Thomas erupted for a career-high 44 points (16-23 FG, 4-5 3PT, 8-9 FT), six rebounds, and team-high five assists. Edmond Sumner scored 29 points, Nic Claxton posted a double-double of 15 points and game-high 13 boards along with five dishes and three blocks, while Royce O’Neale had ten points, six rebounds, four dimes, and game-high four rejections.

The most important update, however, was the trade of PG Kyrie Irving who was shipped out to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and a package of draft picks. This trade cam after Irving requested a trade a few days ago. According to some sources, the Nets were in contact with a few other teams, including the Suns, Lakers and Clippers. Without Irving, it will be interesting the Nets manage to keep Durant for much longer.

SF Kevin Durant (knee) is still out and will not be ready to feature on Monday against the Clippers. SF T.J. Warren (leg) and PG Ben Simmons (knee) are questionable.

Trends:

Los Angeles:

  • 7-1 ATS in the last eight games overall
  • 6-1 ATS in the last seven road games
  • 7-0 ATS in the last seven games playing on one day of rest

Brooklyn:

  • 6-14 ATS in the last 20 home games vs. a team with a winning road record

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Brooklyn Nets Pick

With all due respect to Cam Thomas and his career display against the Wizards, without Durant and Irving, the Nets have nothing to ask for in a duel with the Clippers. Ben Simmons is questionable to feature, and even if he plays, I expect the visitors to get an easy victory. The Nets do have a better offense that averages 114.4 points per game opposite the Clippers’ 111.0 ppg, which is the third-weakest offense in the NBA. Still, the Clippers will use their rock-sold defense which is the third-best in the league with 110.8 ppg allowed. Leonard and George will have a field day on Monday.

Pick: Take the Clippers at -4.5 (-133)

The Total

The Nets did score 125 against Washington, but the Clippers’ defense is stronger and there is no way they will let Cam Thomas score 40+ points here. Brooklyn will be very limited on offense and I wouldn’t be surprised if Los Angeles keeps the hosts below 100 points in this one. Under is 4-1 in the Clippers’ last five games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, Under is 4-1 in the Nets’ previous five home games vs. a team with a winning road record, while Under is 5-2 in Brooklyn’s last 7 Monday games.

Pick: Go Under 220 points (-133)
