The NBA is providing us with a four-game slate on Sunday, January 29, including this inter-conference tilt, so feel free to read the best Pacers vs. Grizzlies betting pick and odds.

Memphis is desperate to avoid the sixth loss in a row when they welcome Indiana at FedExForum. The Grizzlies are 7-point favorites on BetUS Sportsbook, while the total is set at N/A points. These inter-conference rivals have met once this season, and the Grizzlies won 130-112 in Indiana.

Pacers couldn’t stop the Bucks in the first half

The Indiana Pacers (24-27, 27-24-0 ATS) managed to avoid the eighth consecutive loss with a home victory over the Chicago Bulls but returned to losing ways with defeats to the Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks. The Pacers displayed their worst defensive performance of the season in a 141-131 home loss to the Bucks and allowed even 85 points in the first half, scoring just 56 in return. Although Indiana played better in the second half, they couldn’t avoid a loss in the end. Milwaukee outjumped Indiana (50-38), was better in assists (32-22) and made 18 triples opposite the Pacers’ 13.

Myles Turner led the Pacers with 24 points, five rebounds, and game-high four blocks. Buddy Hield followed him with 22 points, five boards, and game-high three steals, Bennedict Mathurin added 21 points and team-high eight rebounds, T.J. McConnell had 19 points, game-high nine dimes, six boards, and three thefts, while Chris Duarte posted a 17/4/6 line.

C Daniel Theis (knee) and PG Tyrese Haliburton (elbow) are out indefinitely and will not feature on Sunday in Memphis.

Grizzlies are going through their worst period of the season

The Memphis Grizzlies (31-18, 23-25-1 ATS) are going through their toughest sequence of the campaign as they suffered five straight defeats, all five on the road. The Grizzlies’ most recent loss came to the Minnesota Timberwolves, after which they returned home where they will play five of the next six at FedExForum. Memphis displayed one of the weakest offensive performances of the season in a 111-100 loss and shot only 40.9% from the field.

Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with a triple-double of 27 points, 11 assists, and ten rebounds, but he also committed six turnovers. Dillon Brooks had 17 points and four boards, Brandon Clarke chipped in 15 points, seven rebounds, and game-high three steals, while Jaren Jackson Jr. added 14 points, seven boards, two thefts, and two blocks.

C Steven Adams (knee) is out indefinitely. SG Danny Green (knee), SG John Konchar (concussion), and G Desmon Bane (knee) are questionable to play on Sunday against the Pacers.

Trends:

Indiana:

  • 4-0 ATS in the last four games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game

Memphis:

  • 1-5 ATS in the last six games overall
  • 2-5 ATS in the last seven games following an ATS loss
  • 3-7 ATS in the last ten home games following a road trip of seven or more days

Indiana Pacers vs. Memphis Grizzlies Pick

The Grizzlies are struggling recently but they have the best home record in the NBA and there is no doubt they will bounce back in their first home game following a five-game road trip. Still, I am not sure whether the Grizzlies are going to cover or not. Indiana knew to make a surprise or two so far this season, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pacers put up a fight here and avoid a double-digit loss. The Grizzlies do have a better offense and defense, but that doesn’t guarantee them a blowout win considering they are going through a rough patch.

Pick: Take the Pacers at +9.5 (-130)

The Total

Memphis is a monster at home and is scoring points for fun, so we can put recent road struggles aside and the fact that the Grizzlies score more than 110 points twice in the last five games. Indiana doesn’t have problems with scoring (115.4 ppg), but the Pacers’ defense is among the weakest in the NBA as it allows 117.3 ppg. Over is 7-1 in the last eight H2H meetings; Over is 5-1 in the previous six H2H duels in Memphis, while Over is 5-0 in the Grizzlies’ last five home games.

Pick: Go Over N/A points
