This conference duel in Seattle will conclude a three-game slate in the NHL on Monday, March 13, so feel free to take a look at the best Stars vs. Kraken betting pick and odds.

Dallas is looking for the third win in a row, while Seattle hopes to avoid the third straight defeat when they meet at Climate Pledge Arena. The Stars are -121 moneyline favorites on Jazz Sportsbook, while the total is set at 6 goals. These conference rivals will face for the second time this year; the Stars won 4-3 after overtime in Seattle a couple of nights ago.

Stars edged the Kraken in Seattle

The Dallas Stars (36-17-10-3, 37-29 ATS) opened their six-game road trip with a couple of wins over the Buffalo Sabres and Seattle Kraken. The Stars scored a season-high ten goals against Buffalo and then edged the Kraken 4-3 in overtime. Dallas now has five wins in six games and is 2nd in the Western Conference with 85 points, a point behind the Vegas Golden Knights.

Joe Pavelski tied the game at 3-3 to force overtime in Seattle and then Miro Heiskanen scored a game-winner in OT to make it 4-3 for Dallas. Heiskanen and Roope Hintz led the Stars with two points apiece. When it comes to points, Jason Robertson leads the Stars this season with 83 (G 38, A 45) and is among the top 10 players in the NHL in that regard. Hintz has 62 (G 32, A 30), Jamie Benn contributes 60 (G 27, A 33), and Pavelski has 59 points (G 17, A 42).

Jake Oettinger (28-9-10) is expected to take his place in the cage against Seattle on Monday. The 24-year-old is allowing 2.41 goals per game this year with a .920 SV% and four shutouts.

RW Luke Glendening (lower body) is questionable to play on Monday against the Kraken. C Tyler Seguin (lower body) and G Scott Wedgewood (lower body) are questionable.

Kraken fell short of the Stars in OT

The Seattle Kraken (37-22-4-3, 40-26 ATS) were on a five-game winning streak but lost the previous two games to the Ottawa Senators and Dallas Stars, both at home. The Kraken are on a four-game home stand, which they will conclude with the second game of a back-to-back set against the Stars on Monday. Seattle is in 5th position in the Western Conference with 81 points, four behind the Stars and five behind the Golden Knights.

The Kraken had a 3-2 lead against Dallas late into the third period, but the visitors managed to tie the game and force overtime. Seattle had to settle with a point as Miro Heiskanen netted a game-winning goal for Dallas. Vince Dunn led the Kraken in this loss with a couple of assists. This season, Dunn is Seattle’s top point producer with 53 points (G 12, A 41), followed by Jared McCann with 52 (G 33, A 19) and Jordan Eberle with 52 points (G 15, A 37).

RW Andre Burakovsky (lower body) and RW Joonas Donskoi (upper body) are out indefinitely and will not face the Stars on Monday.

Trends:

Dallas:

  • 5-1 in the last six overall
  • 4-0 in the last four road games
  • 4-1 in the last five vs. Western Conference rivals
  • 16-5 in the last 21 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation

Seattle:

  • 1-4 in the last five home games
  • 2-4 in the last six games played on a Monday when playing at home

Dallas Stars vs. Seattle Kraken Pick

The Kraken are not playing well at home recently, while the Stars have been excellent on the road, and although the hosts will be hoping to get revenge for an OT loss a couple of nights ago, I don’t think it will happen. Dallas scored at least four goals in each of the last seven games and climbed up to the 8th place in goals per game this season with 3.41. Seattle’s offense is even more efficient (3.52 gpg), but the Stars have the fourth-best defense in the NHL as it allows 265 goals per contest. I am going with the visitors to get an edge against the Kraken on Monday.

Pick: Take the Stars to win (-121)

The Total

I mentioned Dallas’ form and offensive productivity of late, but Seattle has been also quite efficient. The Kraken scored a minimum of three goals in each of their previous seven games, and I expect to see another tight encounter with at least three goals on each end. Over is 6-0-1 in the Stars’ last seven overall; Over is 5-0 in Dallas’ previous five games following a win, Over is 5-2 in the Kraken’s last seven overall, while Over is 5-1-1 in Seattle’s previous seven home games.

Pick: Go Over 6 goals (-110)
